MORE CARE YOU DESERVE AND RESULTS YOU EXPECT.

The Dr. Rudy J. Ellis Sports Medicine Center was established in 1981 to provide accelerated rehabilitation through physical therapy for orthopaedic patients. Since then, Ellis & Badenhausen Physical Therapy practice has expanded to 5 convenient locations in Louisville and Southern Indiana where our physical therapists and physical therapy assistants utilize a wide range of modalities and therapeutic techniques to expedite recovery following injury, surgery or other orthopaedic procedures.

PHYSICAL THERAPY SERVICES

All patients at E&B Physical Therapy are assessed and prescribed a custom treatment plan. Our physical therapists attentively guide patients through each unique appointment, and also equip them with everything needed to progress in therapy at home between appointments. Our staff is trained in the following specialized modalities to ensure we provide the highest level of advanced patient care:

Cupping therapy uses suction cups to create negative pressure on the skin, lifting underlying tissues to release tension, promote blood flow, and aid in healing. It is commonly used to alleviate muscle tightness and enhance recovery.

Dry Needling involves inserting thin needles into muscle trigger points or areas of tightness to relieve pain and restore function. This technique stimulates a healing response by improving blood flow and releasing muscle tension.

Lightforce Laser Therapy uses therapeutic laser light to reduce pain, inflammation, and accelerate tissue healing by penetrating deep into muscles and joints. It promotes cellular regeneration and speeds up recovery from injury.

Shockwave Therapy delivers high-energy sound waves to injured or painful areas, stimulating tissue repair and improving blood flow. It is often used for chronic pain conditions such as tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, and joint injuries.

KinesioTaping involves applying elastic therapeutic tape to support muscles and joints, reduce swelling, and improve circulation. It aids recovery by providing stabilization without limiting movement.

BFR Training uses bands or cuffs to restrict blood flow to working muscles during low-intensity exercise, promoting muscle growth and strength with reduced load. This method accelerates recovery and enhances rehabilitation outcomes.

FMS is a screening tool that evaluates fundamental movement patterns to identify imbalances or limitations that may increase injury risk. It provides a foundation for corrective exercise and performance improvement.

VALD Technology Assessment uses advanced data-capturing equipment like force plates and dynamometers to measure movement, strength, balance, and power. It provides objective insights for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization.

PRRT focuses on releasing primal reflexes that contribute to pain and dysfunction. It uses gentle techniques to reset the body’s nervous system and reduce pain by addressing the root causes of tension and discomfort.

Ultrasound therapy uses high-frequency sound waves to deliver deep heat to tissues, promoting blood flow and tissue repair. It is commonly used for treating muscle strains, sprains, and chronic soft tissue conditions.

Compex Electrical Stimulation delivers targeted electrical impulses to stimulate muscle contractions, enhancing recovery, strength, and endurance. It is commonly used for muscle rehabilitation and post-exercise recovery.

Normatec Compression Therapy uses dynamic air pressure to massage and compress limbs, improving circulation and reducing muscle soreness. It helps accelerate recovery by enhancing lymphatic drainage and reducing swelling.

Mechanical Traction involves applying a gentle, sustained pulling force to the spine or joints to relieve pressure on nerves and discs. It is often used for treating back pain, disc herniations, and joint stiffness.

IASTM uses specially designed instruments to apply pressure and mobilize soft tissues, breaking down scar tissue and fascial adhesions. This technique improves mobility and reduces pain in muscles and joints.
