Preadmission Testing
ALL Pre-admission Lab work and Testing must be completed at least a week prior to surgery or you risk having your surgical procedure rescheduled. This is for your safety and to prescreen all possible conditions your surgeon and anesthesiologist would need to be aware of prior to surgery. Your insurance carrier may or may not cover this expense; however, they are necessary as part of your preoperative screening
Pacemaker Implant / Defibrillator
If you have a pacemaker/defibrillator implant please make your physician aware of this condition. The office needs a copy of your pacer card with the serial number, model number and vendor phone number. We must speak with your vendor prior to any surgery.
Surgical Assistants
Depending on your procedure your physician may require a surgical assistant. These surgical assistants are independent contractors and will bill your insurance separately.
Eating & Drinking Guidelines
DO NOT EAT SOLID FOODS OR DRINK ANYTHING after midnight the night before surgery. This includes chewing gum, candy, and mints
Medications
Please notify the staff of all current:
If you normally take medications check with your surgeon to see if you should take them the night before or the morning of the surgery.
Also, please inform your surgeon if you are taking:
If you still smoke, it is recommended that you refrain from smoking the day of surgery.
